Sharing God’s Gifts
After blessing us with His gifts for life and salvation, the Lord has good use of us to share His gifts in faithful service toward Him and in love toward our neighbor.
Consider the opportunities available at Christ Lutheran Church to serve the Lord in His Kingdom and to support the proclamation of the Gospel.
Outreach
Storybook Prison Ministry
Volunteers help prison inmates select age appropriate books for their children and record them as they read from their selections. The audio recordings and books are then mailed to the children, promoting literacy and preserving positive connections between incarcerated parents and their young children.
LWML Quilting
The ladies and friends of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League meet every two months in the church Fellowship Hall to make quilts for missions. To date, hundreds of quilts have been sent all over the world.
Deaf Ministry
Hearing and deaf members continue working together to bring the Gospel to the deaf and hard-of-hearing in our community.
Synod and District Mission Support
Christ Lutheran Church supports the proclamation of the Gospel throughout the southeastern United States and the world by sending 10% of all offerings received to the Southern District and Synod of The LCMS.
Faithful Service
Altar Guild
Both men and women are welcome to serve in the Lord’s House by setting up communion and preparing the sanctuary for worship. The Altar Guild meets with pastor twice a year to learn more about the vestments, symbols, furnishings, and colors associated with worship and the upcoming seasons of the Church Year to better prepare them for service.
Greeters and Ushers
Take a turn greeting visitors and members at the door, or by assisting in the Sanctuary with seating, receiving the offering, passing out service folders, and doing other small tasks that make a big difference.
Choir
The choir rehearses Wednesday evenings during the Festival half of the church year, and serves the congregation by leading her corporate response in worship. Men and women of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in providing this vital service.
Clean Team
It is our duty and privilege to care for the wonderful facility we’ve been entrusted with. Every week a team of volunteers assembles to perform this labor of love, cleaning the inside of the Church and Fellowship Hall.
Grounds Maintenance
Volunteers perform all the necessary duties of maintaining the Church Property. If you can mow, weed, prune, sweep, or do simple repairs, the Lord can have good use of you here!
Christ's Caring Community and Social Ministry
Our Lord also has good use of us to administer His care and compassion to our brothers and sisters in need. Through Christ’s Caring Community, members assist one another with meals, transportation, and other special needs as they arise.
